Toolbox Of Strategies

Look at every food and ask yourself one question - "Is this a high-sugar or low-sugar food?"

If you are overweight or obese (BMI 25 to 40), the most useful diet for weight loss is a low sugar or low-glycemic diet. Women should not eat more than 24 grams of sugar per day. Men should not eat more than 36 grams of sugar per day. I know, it's not fair, but added or hidden sugar causes weight gain.

    Portion Size

Choose a healthier eating style. Before you eat, think about what goes on your plate, in your cup, or in your bowl (Mindfulness). Divide your meal according to the Harvard Eating Plate

Focus on the 5 food groups. To move to a healthier weight, you need to make smart choices from every food group.

People who skip breakfast often weigh more.

    Physical Activity

Exercise at least 5 days per week for 30 minutes.

    Your Kitchen

"I think food is usually an extension of the person preparing it. People connect to other people. Food is the pleasurable bridge upon which both sides cross."
